ACF Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh recently won the award for Best
CSR in the Health Category at the Impactful CSR Award of Metropolis Healthcare
Heroes of India Awards 2022.
As part of Metropolis CSR initiatives, the Healthcare Heroes
of India Award aims to recognize heroes of healthcare specially the ones who
went out of their way to risk their lives. The Healthcare Heroes of India is an
annual event to identify and recognize the torchbearers of the healthcare
industry who have prioritized patient care over all growth parameters and
celebrate these heroes.
ACF’s work in Bhatapara was recognized as it proven to work tirelessly for the welfare of communities and impact lives via CSR Programs. The award is all thanks to the cadre of 27 Sakhis (Community Health volunteers) who risked their lives during the pandemic and were able to curb the virus in the villages. Apart from COVID-19, these Sakhis are also in charge of disseminating information on health related issues and government schemes.
Thrilled with the announcement, Pearl Tiwari, Director &
CEO, Ambuja Cement Foundation said, “The team were really challenged during the
nationwide lockdown to reach out to the communities. They were committed to
their work in spite of that, and continued to help the local health teams and
people. We appreciate such recognition of our work, as it motivates our team,
and validates the extra mile they go to, in making a difference on the ground
in grassroots communities.”
Under the health program at Bhatapara, ACF has been reaching out to 25,000 people covering initiatives on Maternal & Child Health, Non-Communicable Diseases, WASH and Sanitation, Mental Health and Menstrual Hygiene Management.
