Ambuja Bags Gujarat CSR Award

Adding one more feather in the cap, Ambuja Cement has bagged a prestigious award from the Gujarat CSR Authority, for strategic and cohesive partnerships in Kodinar, Gujarat.
The award was given for ACF's water resource management and agricultural based livelihoods programs, and was handed over by Hon. Governor of Gujarat, Om Prakash Kohli, in the presence of Chairman, GCSRA, Maheshwar Sahu and CEO, GCSRA, A M Tiwari.
Mr. Tiwari mentioned that work done by ACF was not transactional in nature, but transformative and was widely recognised by several players in the industry.
Kodinar, the first location of ACF, is a salinity prone region - a condition which dramatically impacted agriculture, the key driver of the local economy. ACF, with various partner organisations including government, national and international development agencies along with corporates, undertook the building of check dams, tidal regulators, the interlinking of canals, and filling of mined out pits to increase the ground table of freshwater.
And all these efforts have yielded encouraging results. A study conducted in 2015 showed ACF's water program having yielded 13 times social return on investment in Kodinar region.
