Ambuja Manovikas Kendra, ACF’s school for differently abled children in Ropar, Punjab bagged the 23rd Punjab State Special Olympics Overall Championship Trophy yet again. AMK athletes secured 21 Gold Medals, 9 Silver Medals & 1 Bronze Medal in different sports event.
23 AMK athletes (11 girls & 12 boys) participated in the 23rd Punjab State Special Olympics which was held last weekend. The team also secured the 1st position in Bocce Ball (Italian Lawn Bowling) in the male group category and 3rd position in the Female Group Category. This tournament is organized by the Special Olympics Bharat (Punjab Chapter) in which the event saw 575 athletes from 40 Special Schools of Punjab participate.
This is the 15th time in a row that AMK has been winning the Overall Championship Trophy at the Punjab State special Olympics. AMK’s athletes have just proved their excellence in sports once again.
All the athletes were welcomed by the AMK staff and students with celebrations, bhangra and sweets, to mark the occasion.
AMK harnesses the power of sports, music, art and yoga to support the growth and development of the students in a holistic way. The school has achieved international success with many of the students participating and bring home medals even in the World Special Olympics.
