First held in 1974 by the UN to raise awareness on environmental issues, World Environment Day - celebrated on 5th June every year, aims to create awareness and inspire action for the protection of the environment. It has now become the most renowned day for environmental action with participation of major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and public figures from 143 countries. With India's lockdown still underway, the ACF SEDI team in Bhatapara Chattisgarh planned a few online activities for its trainees. The team initiated a drive to get students from different trades to participate in a chart-paper model creation and a slogan writing initiative. Students & staff from trades like Beautician, Retail Management, Assistant Electrician and Hotel Management put on their creative hats and designed posters and items with unused materials available in their homes. The theme for the activities was pure air and characterization of trees. The trainees & teachers presented some remarkable designs highlighting World Environment Day and showcasing the importance of Biodiversity.
