Exposure Visits Provide Workplace Insights

As part of it's placement model SEDI organizes exposure visits for students, to help them gain first-hand knowledge about their respective fields and experience the work culture.

SEDI Bhatapara organized 12 such exposure visits in the year 2018-19 for the Retail Management, Hospitality, Beautician and Electrician trainees, with great outcomes. The retail trainees learned customer service tactics from sales executives of City Centre Mall 36 in Bilaspur and Magneto Mall in Raipur. They also received expert advice from the staff of Globus, Westside and Reliance Digital.

The first hotel management training batch was privileged to visit three luxury hotels - Hotel Canyan, Hotel Sahaji and Hotel Babylon. The HR managers and FB managers presented hospitality ethics with a tour of the hotel banquets, lobbies and recreation areas and rooms. The students also visited the kitchen area and spoke with the Executive Chef of one of the hotels.

The beautician trainees visited a few reputed salons in Raipur and Bilaspur, learning the tricks of the trade and improving their skills. The electrical trainees also had a chance to visit different workshops and mechanical industries and the mason trainees visited construction sites and gained expertise from it.

Exposure visits are an important exercise for SEDI trainees, which have an impact, not only on the trainees, but also on the trainers & helps them enhance syllabus and skill techniques. The exercise builds confidence and helps trainees understand the working environment and work culture. It also helps build relationships with partners, and many trainees get placed in these outlets on completion of the course.
