Under the joint partnership of Gram Panchayat
Kashlog (Himachal Pradesh) and Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF), a free medical
health camp was organized in Kashlog with the Maharishi Markandeshwar
Hospital, Solan.
The community members who attended the health camp
were provided with full body health check-ups, tests, consultations and
medicines. From the varied age group of beneficiaries that visited the health
camp, 15 patients were attended by the paediatrician and gynaecologist, whereas
51 patients saw the ophthalmologist and 62 patients saw the orthopaedic doctor.
The camp was inaugurated by Smt. Bimal Devi Gram
Pradhan Kashlog and Shri Mast Ram Sharma, Shri Chandra Prakash Sharma, Shri
Prem Lal Thakur, Shri Jagdish Sharma, Shri Ramesh Chandra Gandhi, Shri Jaman
Singh, Shri Jeetram Thakur lit the lamp for a good event.

Hospital thanked the people for their maximum participation in the camp and
assured that there was a plan to offer patients a minimum
fee at Maharishi Markandeshwar Hospital by attending the camp.

Ambuja Cements Limited, Darlaghat was also present at the event and advised that
more and more people come and benefit from the health camp – making a
commitment that such camps would be conducted frequently.
ACF ensured that people were mobilised to attend
the camp in large numbers, with regular follow-ups. ACF’s health team and the
Sakhis (ACF trained community health volunteers) were present to provide
support and also thanked the beneficiaries for attending the camp.
ACF takes a preventive, promotive and
curative approach when it comes to its health program in Darlaghat, focusing on
women, children and the elderly. It has created a cadre of Sakhis who are
aligned and associated with the government health system - promoting
institutional deliveries, tackling infant & maternal mortality rates,
adolescent health and sanitation.
