In the vein of 'I CAN', ACF introduced a giving campaign called 'I GIVE', to encourage employees of Ambuja Cements Limited to give and help those less fortunate than themselves. The campaign was kickstarted during the 'The Joy of Giving Week' (also known as Daan Utsav) - India's own festival of Giving, from 2nd to 8th October.
Joy of Giving Week celebrates by engaging people through 'acts of giving' - money, time, resources, skills and harnesses yet another one of Mahatma Gandhi's principles. This year Ambuja Cement Foundation initiated the 'I Give' campaign with initiatives like:
· Collection of relief material for people severely hit by recent monsoon floods,
· Sponsorship of differently-abled child at Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-special-children)
· Sponsorship of Skill Training support for a rural youth. (https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-ambuja-cement-foundation)
Employees of Ambuja Cements donated clothes, blankets, stationery, dry rations and shoes for the flood affected areas, while many employees showed their dedication towards the material segregation activity. In just a week of collection drive, ACF was able to collect 18 cartons of flood relief materials for NGO partner, Goonj. These materials were divided into kits for distribution at Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh locations.
As part of the campaign, many employee's put their hands in their pocket and donated as much as they could to to support Ambuja Manovikas Kendra children to help children access special education and support rural youth in obtaining skill training at SEDI.
Appreciating the support ACF received through the 'I Give' campaign, they decided to continue running the campaign till the end of year with many other activities and fundraisers planned in support of AMK children and rural youth. Stay tuned for more updates …
