All 37 Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDI) at Ambuja Foundation that provide skill training and entrepreneurship opportunities to rural youth made efforts to celebrate the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, which is celebrated on 15th July every year, recognizing the important role that skilled youth play in promoting peace and development. SEDI students took part in morning parades in the community, rallies, tool-kit distribution, experience sharing, career counseling, expert guidance, health check-up camps, blood donation drives, traditional crafts, poster-making competitions, and face painting.
Some of the trainees showcased their skills in the program through skits, street plays, dance, and singing. They also conducted demonstrations of Fire & Safety, CPR (lifesaving procedure), and Cybersecurity. The General Duty Assistant (GDA) batch in Rajula showcased their talent through a role play on the healthcare sector and the duties of nurses in an engaging and entertaining manner. In Goverdhan, the GDA batch conducted health check-up camps.
In Rajasthan, over 100 students graduated in the presence of Shri Avinash Gehlot, Cabinet Minister - Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Government of Rajasthan, along with senior representatives from AU Bank Foundation and Ambuja Foundation. In some SEDIs, the day was celebrated with esteemed guests from the government, banks, and local administration. Successful alumni also shared their experiences and encouraged the trainees to stay committed to the course and invest in hard work. A few alumni also joined virtually to encourage students.
In Lucknow, a rally was organized wherein students walked through the communities chanting slogans and distributing pamphlets on the need for skilling. At common places, they also had brief talks and demonstrations. The rally aimed to raise awareness about the importance of skill development among youth in nearby villages. Students also experienced virtual interviews with potential placement partners and mock trials for on-the-job training.
Students from the electrical batch showcased their skills by creating models for emergency and rain alerts. Students from other batches of beauty and business correspondence also showcased their skills and plans for the future upon completion of the course.
Ambuja Foundation’s Chairman Shri Narotam Sekhsaria extended a written message, congratulating students on the occasion of World Skills Day, while Chief Operating Officer-Skill Shri Ravi Nayse joined two events virtually to guide and inspire the youth.
Ambuja Foundation’s Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Program offers rural youth opportunities to become active and productive citizens, finding meaningful employment in and around their communities. With 37 Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDIs) established to date, Ambuja Foundation has successfully trained 118,482 youth across 42 accredited courses, achieving an impressive placement rate of 75%. In 2023-24 alone, 15,774 youth have enrolled across all SEDI branches and over 204 trainees have successfully ventured into entrepreneurship.
