Ambuja Cement Foundation is a grassroots implementing organisation who, over the past few decades, has developed an expertise in ‘last mile reach’ and ‘community mobilisation.’ Working hand in hand with like-minded organisations, we generate prosperity in rural communities.
We collaborate and work with a variety of partners, to help them implement their on-ground programs and make lasting change in rural communities. With over 75 partners across 11 states, ACF is experienced in designing, managing and implementing rural development projects in partnership with:
ACF partners with many state governments to implement a variety of schemes in the areas of water, skills, agriculture and women. ACF has the capacity to manage large scale projects, working with multiple stakeholders - delivering tangible, on-ground impacts.
ACF implements the CSR of many corporate partners. With proven project models, the ability to measure impact and meet detailed reporting requirements, ACF makes the perfect CSR implementing partner.
ACF has collaborated with a variety of Indian and International non-profit organisations. Our widespread reach across rural communities, and beneficiary groups (Women, Farmers and Youth) provide non-profits with instant access to target communities.
A unique aspect of ACF’s work is our partnership with the community itself. Across all programs, we ensure communities invest in projects, harnessing both financial and in-kind contributions to ensure local ownership and ‘buy in’.
One of ACF’s most significant Government partners is agri-giant, NABARD, who has invested 1.07 crores in 21 projects across agriculture, water, women and skills with ACF in 2021. The collaboration, which kickstarted in 2008 and continues till date, is a natural win-win for both organisastions, and the communities with which they work – and with so much work to do across the country, there is great scope for the partnership in the future.
HDFC Bank has been collaborating with ACF since 2018, with ACF driving the implementation of rural development CSR initiatives in the areas of Sikar (Rajasthan) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand). So successful has the partnership been, that it has expanded to 5 locations and today incorporates agriculture, skills, water, women empowerment and education.
In 2010, Better Cotton, an international not for profit membership organisation, and ACF connected and found common ground - one was looking for farmers to educate, the other looking for ways to build the capacities of their farmers. Since then, the two have been instrumental in enhancing cotton practices and livelihoods of over 1.6 lakh cotton farmers.
The community is a crucial stakeholder and ACF ensures they invest (either financially or in kind) in each and every project to ensure local “buy-in”. Nowhere was this better seen, than in Rabriyawas, Rajasthan, where the community united to provide manpower and machinery for extraction of over 3 million cubic metres of soil during pond de-silting work by ACF. It was a mammoth task, and community involvement was key to their role going forward as Water Stewards.
The needs of rural India are vast, and we can make a bigger difference by working together. We currently have a footprint across 12 states and 4267 villages, but have identified an additional 47 districts for development. These districts fare very poorly on development indicators, where quality of human life is abysmal.
