Health WASH

WASH

We promote safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene to ensure the health and wellbeing of communities.

Open Defecation Free Villages

We promote the construction and use of toilets. Our aim is to achieve 100% toilet coverage and ODF status for the communities in which we work. We adopt the principles of Community Led Total Sanitation to ensure community ownership.

WASH in Institutions

Wash is an underlying cause of malnutrition and ACF focuses on WASH in AWC and in schools with construction of toilets and hand washing facilities. Awareness on hand washing, personal hygiene, and sanitation facility in both institutions is focused. Equitable access to safe and pure drinking water is catered through RO plants in villages.

Personal & Environmental Hygiene

We sensitise communities around personal and environmental hygiene. Awareness at a school level helps to improve sanitation and behavior change.

Menstrual Hygiene

In alignment with Swachh Bharat guidelines, ACF promotes four pillars of Menstrual Hygiene Management: access to awareness, access to absorbents, access to WASH and access to disposal. ACF creates awareness in schools and communities, installs napkin making units at SHG groups and ensures wash and disposal in schools.
